Bee A Queen

As we all know, I'm a Mom. A Mommy. A Mother. A Mum. However you say the word, it all means the same thing. To my children, I am the Boss, the cuddler, the "make the boo boo all better" and even the one who does the discipline. In a nutshell, I'm THE ONE

Very rarely do I get time to myself. Reading a book is almost unheard of unless it's Pinkalicious or Mercer Mayer (whom I adore) so to take a moment and be selfish is kinda a hard thing for me. Don't laugh, it's true. I am a follower of  Vintage Revivals. It's a great little blog. Go check it out! Anyway, she has a post about a giveaway and well, I want to win it. It's called Bee A Queen

Umm, sign me up please! The question is simple. Why  do you deserve to be a Queen for a day? OK so I THOUGHT it was simple. When I first typed them out it seemed like a list that looked more like a sob story instead of a happy Mother. Do I really hate being talked to and crowded when I go poo? Was having surgery due to thyroid cancer really all that bad? The answers are no. My children love me and want to be around me all the time. One day I'm gonna turn around and they'll be 10 and want to follow their friends instead. Surgery was a blessing. It removed my "yucky bugs", as per the Littles, and I am feeling better. It's a slow process and my hair is falling out more so than normal but it'll stop and my health will continue to improve. So what's there to complain about?

I guess the reason I want to be a Queen is simply this:

A Queen is a refined "young" Lady.
A Woman whom oozes class.
She crosses her ankles instead of her legs
with a pillow always under her ....

But I am a Mother of three.
Two are young and one is much older.
I've been through the teens and the in betweens
and the weight still lays on my shoulders.

Make up and hair?
Clean clothes and  new shoes?
Does this really exist or am I dreaming?
'Cause my life is more flip flops and yoga pants
with two Littles in the background screaming!

Every picture of me I look haggered.
Sleep doesn't come easily my way.
Little one had a bad dream or Little two needs some water.
OH Calgon! Please come and take me away!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I do my best to prepare healthy meals.
But someone hates the sauce or the meat isn't right
Don't they care how that makes me feel?

Sigh

Yes I am exhausted.
And yes, my food is always cold.
But my family is my greatest blessing.
I wouldn't trade them for King Midas' gold.

But, to Bee A Queen for the day.
Now that's a toss up to be quite true.
My family's needs or my very own?
I think I'll go with option #2!

Grr! Argh!

WHY?!?!

Why does my computer not transfer my 4 giga bite memory card? I have so many photo's to post and share and well, now I can't. BOO!

The Littles and I have been busy having some fun around the old homestead decorating for Halloween. We even made a batch of Russian tea to help get us in the Fall mood.

Over the past 2 weeks we have made a wreath for the front door, a countdown calendar,  tin can mummies, Halloween cookies and foam picture frames. We also decorated the "porch" and got our costumes all picked out and together. It's just so exciting!

Little Miss has her first school field trip on Thursday where they will be going to a local pumpkin patch called Buckaloo Farms. There, she'll be able to pick out her very own pumpkin to bring home. I'll take Little Mr to the grocery for his. I think I may get 4 in all and make a scene. I'm not too sure yet what the pumpkin decorating will be or look like this year. Oh the choices!

In the meantime, I hope to continue to figure out the issue with my computer/picture problem. Wish me luck!

Wedding Bells!

My BFF Suze is getting married in a few weeks. October the 27TH to be exact and I am her Matron of Honor. Now, while I am totally humbled and honored she chose me to fill this position I'm also...exhausted. I have planned, painted, glued, built and arranged till my mind is a blur and I don't know if it's from being over stimulated or the smell of paint and glue fumes!

For her bachlorette party I took her to a great Mediterrian restaurant called Shish Kabobs and we dinned on some AWESOME food. We also watched a belly dancer and Suze and Jess even got up and joined her. After, we went for a few drinks (I was the DD so water for me) and then to Laffs for a comedy show. It was a low key night but what the Bride to Be wanted. At the end, she said it was perfect! That was Saturday.

On Sunday, I hosted a couples bridal shower. 20 people came (I kept it small as per instructions from both the Bride and Groom) and for 3 hours everyone dined and celebrated the couple. They got some great gifts and I got some great pics. Only problem, my computer is being a royal pain and I can't seem to  be able to upload them right now. Once the issue is resolved I'll be sure to post a few pics from the festivities.

Now that the weekend is over, I'm happy. I even got to sleep in this morning and stayed in my PJ's as long as possible. Now that's what I call success!

H.A. Double L O. W. Double E. N!

That's right people. Halloween is right around the corner and I'm already thinking of ways to make the house look cute and spooky all at the same time. Since I have the Littles I can't make it really scary but I have ideas in my head.

I love crafts and Martha Stewart and Pinterest and all that fun goodness..I look at the WWW at night when the Littles are nestled in their beds and I have a few minutes to myself. So when I checked out Pinterest the other night I found something I just HAD to do. It's a printable countdown to Halloween!

Seriously! It's so dang cute and yes, it will be happening tonight people! I found TONS of adorable things to do and pinned them in my Holiday board. Go check it out. You might find some stuff you like in there too so hey, follow me. I'll follow you, we can follow one another. This is a time in your life that's it's OK to do what the other kids do!

I need to get with the Littles though and make a wreath for the front door and then chose a printable for the entry table. I have so much to chose from that it's hard to decide. I do really like this for the front door but at $150 from the original seller (Etsy) I just can't go there. I'll figure something out though.

For the day itself the Littles and I will all dress up and then do a round of Trick-Or-Treating at the elementary school. They have trunk or treat and it's safe and lighted. We will be Tinkerbelle, Peter Pan and Wendy. I'll be Wendy. GOOD TIMES!

What will you be this year? What are you plans for your home? How about your favorite Fall recipe  Share it here with me. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear from you.
