Dedication

Well, it's that time. A time when reflection hits you like a ton of bricks and makes you go WHOA like Joey from those 80's sitcoms! My beautiful daughter is almost 5 and my handsome son is almost 3. Where does the time go? Really? I'm asking you where it goes.

After church one Sunday morning I talked to the Hubs and we decided that it was time (and maybe a bit PASSED time) to dedicate the kiddos. To publicly announce that we are going to do our best to raise these gifts from God to the best of our ability. To be a teacher and a light and a Hero to them. We dedicated them on Sunday, March the 25Th and my In laws came to show support and pray with us over the kids and for the Hubs and I to be able to do a good job. It was a great day.

They got their own Bible and a certificate as well as cupcakes as big as their heads! The Hubs and I also got a book on how to be a great mother and father. I cried, laughed, prayed and felt, well, encouraged by all the other Parents and Grandparents that were there with us. Strangers but yet family too. I left feeling exhilarated and ready to go! When we got home from a nice dinner, we gave the kids some little gifts to show them we loved them and were proud of them; A DVD about Jesus and his love, a bracelet and a set of stickers. They were super duper happy!

I can't express how wonderful this day was. From start to finish it was just awesome. But then again, God is awesome so how could I have ever expected less?

Our Shanannigan's

For St. Paddy's we had a great day. We made a cool little wreath for the front door, some rainbow cupcakes and the kids woke to some leprechaun mischief; Poop, aka green popcorn balls. hehe He did, however, leave them a bit o' something fun. They were happy about that. It was gold chocolate coins hidden all over the house. They had a blast finding new ones and adding them to their "collection". We had a green breakfast of lucky milk and shamrock pancakes alongside of emerald isle yogurt. That evening we dove into some good ol' fashioned corn beef and cabbage and to help celebrate my Nephew's 14th birthday, we had some cake!YUMMY!

To help celebrate the day we all wore some green and even Little Miss had a lucky shamrock on her nails to match Mom's!! Here she is showing you her hair. We did a nice little shamrock tied with a festive bow. She thought she was the bees knees!

And here's Mom and Little Miss showing our spirit.

Little Man decked out in green and looking mighty cute and crazy!

I don't have any nice green shirts so I quickly made my hair bow that you see. It's a piece of felt cut in the shape of, whatelse, a shamrock. I hot glued it to a bobby pin and finished it off with a silver bead! Easy Peasy!

I thought I had taken pictures of our projects but, as you can see, or not, I didn't. BOO!

Anyway, I hope you guys had a great day and didn't get pinched. Too much!

Noah's rule of life # 81

When you've had a bad day and just need to cry to get it all out, behind the bathroom door is a great spot. It's private, you have toilet tissue handy for snot and tears PLUS, you can blame the emotional display on "being tired and over stressed".

March Madness

So here we are. Month three of the new year and it's already five days in! Can you honestly believe how fast time seems to be traveling? It seems like just last week I was getting ready to head to CO!

Anyway, with March comes basketball and St. Patricks Day. Being from NC there are two big school rivals. You have Duke Blue Devils and then UNC Tarheels! ME? I'm a Tarheel baby all the way! So when the game came on the other day and it was Duke hosting UNC and UNC WON I was happy to say the least! I was jumping up and down and yelling at the TV saying shoot and defense and get down there. Any command you can think to yell at a TV screen, I gave it. AND, it seems as though the boys heard because UNC beat Duke by 18 points. Oh yes, chest is filled with air and pride is all over my face. GO HEELS!!!!

OK, now that the sports freak is outta me, on to the fun Mommy stuff. On Saturday the 17th it's St. Paddy's Day and so I have to get the ball rolling on a craft to do with the kiddos. I was thinking of making a shamrock wreath or maybe some type of collage we could frame. For breakfast they will more than likely get some green milk and maybe even rainbow pancakes? Still figuring it all out.

Can't wait to post an update on the big day once it gets here. In the meantime, I wanted to leave you with a  "Hi! I've been MIA but I still think about ya."

OH and if you are a member of Apartment Therapy, head on over and vote for your favorite home DIY blog. The Homies are still taking votes until March 9th!
